Time: 3 weeks.
So a month ago-ish, a friend of mine had a birthday.
A month before THAT, his girlfriend (and my friend/RP friend too) ordered a commission; to make a Clow Card with his likeness.
Which, I am very, very honored to do that ._. (I ended up noticing several things I never noticed before)
I had a lot of fun (both the drawing itself, and the -circumstances- related to the drawing...) and trying to mix trads with digital is still an old friend of mine. Symmetry, planning, and..a lot of other stuffs.
The idea is basically, him as the Storyteller. And the image in my head turned to...well, not a casual storyteller; not a sage or preacher....ah, tribal storyteller.
So; a tribal storyteller, those talking in front of a burning fire at darkness; surrounding by other people
The armor were somewhat inspired by Dragon Age's Chasinds..although not all.

I know nothing about Clow Cards, but I really love this artwork ! The armour looks wonderful, thanks to your usual awesome sense of design 
I don't know if he looks like your friend or not, but I love the character's face, I think his beard looks great with the armour collar. Moreover, a white armour creates a beautiful contrast with his dark skin.
I also like the yellow/purple opposition you've chosen. Anyway, congrats, hope your friends appreciated
